S1.21 - Just the Two of Us: Discovering the Amalfi Coast

Aug 31 - Farewell Mooring Field from Hell

As we prepared to depart from the mooring field this morning, we encountered yet another daunting obstacle by none-the-less …. the notorious "mooring ball from hell."

Over night, our vessel had somehow become entangled in its line, leaving us trapped. It took skillful maneuvering to free Lucky Enough from its grasp, but we managed to untangle ourselves and set sail along the stunning Amalfi Coast with a sigh of relief.

Despite the challenges we faced last night and this morning, the breathtaking coastal views served as a reminder of the beauty that surrounded us. While photos may not capture the full essence, I couldn't resist sharing some snapshots of this picturesque journey.

The first 3 are from Postiano - the 1st town we passed by on the Amalfi Coast

Finally finding respite in Agropoli's welcoming marina, albeit in a snug berth amidst moored vessels. It would be our first med-mooring at Porto Di Acropolis with just the two of us, and we did very well with the help of the skilled dockhands and a welcoming bear as a neighbor.

Safely moored, we enjoyed a special dinner at our First Michelin Star restaurant - Pormorano which offered an amazing evening view of this lovely town.

Sept 1-2: Rejuvenation
After a day dedicated to restoration, we meticulously cleaned and provisioned the vessel, preparing for the journey ahead.

Departing Agropoli, we navigated calm waters toward our next destination. Despite the absence of significant winds, our journey unfolded serenely.

By 3:30pm, it was time to once again search for our new backyard for the night.  Being the last summer weekend, we found each spot that we had planned to anchor in was hindered by overcrowded yachts and day boats, so we opted for an idyllic anchorage in Saracena.

Reveling in nature's tranquility, we made the additional 3.5 hour journey and were pleased with our choice as the sun dipped below the horizon.
